Fall Crochet Pattern Round-Up
This fall crochet pattern Round-Up was fun to put together. Fall is a great time to be inspired to make all kinds of beautiful projects! I love the colors and textures of fall and all of these projects show them off wonderfully. There are cute softie projects, snuggly blanket projects and cozy accessory projects. And did I mention that all of these patterns are FREE? I think you’ll enjoy looking through this list and I hope it inspires you to make at least one fall crochet pattern. I know I’ll be heading out soon to enjoy a sunny October day amongst the beautiful fall foliage with hook and yarn in hand!
Stitches Used in the Projects in this Fall Crochet Pattern Round-Up
Most of the stitches used in the Fall Crochet Pattern Round-Up projects are basic crochet stitches with a few other stitches thrown in to create the look each project has. So, you’ll see some post stitches, some decrease stitches, some increase stitches and lacy stitches. The post stitches help create wonderful texture. The increases and decreases help you to make some classic autumn shapes (pumpkins, candy corns, acorns). And the lacy stitches help show off how beautiful crochet is while also letting light through. Many of these fall crochet patterns have video tutorials and/or detailed explanations on how to do each special technique. If you see a technique you’ve never tried before but you absolutely LOVE the project, I highly recommend giving it a whirl! It is so much more rewarding to try a new technique while making something you love.

These little pumpkin earrings are so cute! I think this fall crochet pattern would be a great teacher gift. They are quick and simple to make just using single crochets and an easy decrease stitch. Pumpkin Basket

This Pumpkin Basket uses a neat crochet technique called Tapestry Crochet. This technique makes it possible to create any image because you change the yarn color anywhere you need to by carrying all colors along with you each row. Another nice thing about this technique is that the stitch is the same (single crochet) throughout! I think this is an adorable FREE fall crochet pattern and love that the designer, Rachel, includes a color-coded chart and links to various articles she’s written about how to do this technique best.

Plaid is another fall staple and is a clever design for this pumpkin. Have you ever tried creating a plaid color-pattern with crochet? It’s actually a lot easier than it looks. The pattern provides all the details you need to change the colors so it comes out looking plaid. Cheryl, the designer, says all you need are 2 shades of one color plus white – easy to find in our stash, right? Plus, this fall crochet pattern is worked in rows (not in the round) so it makes it even simpler and quicker to stitch up.

Crochet Fall Wreath

I love to combine crochet with other crafts and mediums so this project caught my eye. The pumpkins are easy to crochet and I love the stitch pattern used for them. Then with some common crafting supplies you add the pumpkins and some other fall decor to a store-bought wreath. I think the addition of the blue pumpkins looks neat, too.

This lovely cowl uses a thick and chunky yarn with a large crochet hook – so even though it is a lacy stitch pattern, it is great for fall and works up really fast! Leafly Autumn Hat

This eye-catching fall crochet pattern uses the “extreme drop stitch” to create the leaf shapes all around the hat. This is a very creative use of this unique stitch and the designer has other versions of this hat using the same stitch in other creative ways. This extreme drop stitch has you loading A LOT of loops onto your hook and can be a little confusing to understand how to do it so I recommend watching the video tutorial that is provided and you’ll be on your way to making this great autumn hat!

Yarn: Vanna’s Choice

3D Pumpkin Dishcloth

The 3D Pumpkin Dishcloth is not only a practical item to have on hand but it is also a cute fall crochet decoration. I love the clever use of the post stitches to create the 3D pumpkin details – these details make the dishcloth work that much better to scrub your dishes! Most of the other stitches are single crochets so this will be easy to make and fun to use or gift to a friend.
