Crochet Snowflake

This Celtic Trinity Snowflake is one of my favorite snowflakes. Some of the first crochet projects I created when I was young were snowflakes – I love how lacy and delicate they are. And I love how there are seemingly endless creative possibilities with them.

This particular snowflake I sketched out last Christmas but didn’t get a chance to experiment with it and crochet the final project until I was away at my daughter’s regional dance competition this past November.

The Celtic Trinity Snowflake

The Celtic Trinity Snowflake features 2 simple Celtic Knots (Trinity Knots) intertwined in the center and then edged with simple crochet stitches to create the snowflake shape.

Skill Level: Easy

The instructions include 2 Celtic Knot diagrams and several step-by-step color photos to help you weave the knots. There is also a diagram that helps you with placement for all of the stitches that surround the center triangle.

Supplies for the Celtic Trinity Snowflake:

The Celtic Trinity Snowflake uses a small amount of Size 10 cotton crochet thread in white along with an even smaller amount of metallic DMC embroidery floss. You’ll need a size 1.5mm crochet hook, fabric stiffener, 20-30 rust-proof sewing pins, wax paper or aluminum foil and a piece of corkboard (or cardboard).

I LOVE how this Celtic Trinity Snowflake turned out and that it works up relatively quickly.
