DIY Wedding Accessory

I enjoy attending weddings that have several handmade elements in them. It is a treat to see the homemade touches that are personalized for the bride and groom and their families. I think it makes the ceremony, reception and entire day so much more meaningful and special.

So, here is one unique DIY wedding accessory that you can make for yourself (or someone you know) to add that special touch while honoring your Irish heritage and/or incorporating your love of all things Celtic.

Just click here to purchase the pattern in my Etsy shop.

Celtic Ring Bearer Pillow

This pattern uses very simple stitches for the base and the knotwork. It is crocheted with Size 3 cotton crochet thread. I highly recommend Lizbeth 3 made by Handy Hands – you can purchase this yarn here. It comes in a wide variety of wonderful colors so you are bound to find a match to your wedding colors.

I like to use a light and dark version of the same color so the pattern of the knot design really pops. There is a color-coded true-to-size knot diagram included with the instructions so that you can be successful.

I included a large and lacy scallop edging that incorporates a cluster stitch that is also included in the video tutorial. I love the look of crisp white crocheted lace, don’t you?
