Free Crochet Hot Pad Pattern
A Crochet Hot Pad is not only easy and quick to make but it is also very practical in the kitchen. You can use crochet hot pads to handle the hot pots, pans and trays coming out of your oven but I like to use them on my dining table under warm serving dishes. I love that crochet hot pads add a decoration and charm to your table setting while also protecting your table from high temperatures.
Hot Pad with a Heart!
This crochet hot pad has a cute and simple heart in the center so it would be a great decoration for Valentine’s Day or any day of the year because who doesn’t like hearts? π The base circle is made with double crochet stitches and pretty cotton yarn. You’ll want to make sure you use only cotton yarn for your crochet hot pad project because the cotton yarn can withstand the heat from pots and dishes. (Acrylic blend yarns would melt and stick to your hot kitchenware and all of your lovely crochet stitches would be ruined – we don’t want that to happen!)
This free crochet hot pad patterns uses these crochet stitches: chains, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet along with an adjustable ring (I include a link to a video tutorial for making the ring). I think you’ll enjoy crocheting, using and/or gifting this hot pad project – Let’s get started!

4 different colors of cotton yarn (Size 4/medium weight)
(I used colors that I found in my stash – they all were muted tones and went well together. I thought it looked nice to use the same color for the last round (with the scallop edging) and for the center heart – In my example: Color A= bone; Color B = denim blue; Color C = light green; Color D = rose pink)
