Ever since I was a little girl my family has decorated Easter Eggs together – I love the tradition of coloring and hiding eggs as a family.

A white egg makes for a wonderful blank canvas for artwork with endless possibilities. Every year we come up with new ways to decorate a batch of perfectly white eggs. Last year we crocheted some covers together and you can see that pattern here (Elegant Easter Eggs) and some videos of the project (tutorial and making together) here and here.

This year I wanted to create a Celtic Knot Egg using a Celtic Cross so after several days of experimenting with threads, colors, knots and eggs I came up with the Celtic Easter Egg.

You can buy this pattern now in my Etsy shop here.
The 10-page instructions include over 15 color photos, 2 clear knot diagrams, some links to video tutorials, special stitch explanations and information and tips for adding a variety of embellishments.

This project is crocheted with a small amount of Size 10 cotton crochet thread and a 1.5mm steel crochet hook – for a complete list of supplies please read the description on Etsy here.

The Celtic Knots are very simple to weave and many basic stitches are used. You’ll see that it is fun to add all kinds of beads, gems and sequins to make each egg unique. Click here to purchase this pattern as an instant digital download.
I hope you enjoy making the Celtic Easter Eggs – thank you for your support!
