Over 10 years ago I submitted my first group of ideas to a publisher and a version of this shamrock was one of those ideas. A different idea was accepted and became my first published design, the Celtic Knot Scarf , and this shamrock went into ‘hibernation’. 🙂

Well, I recently found my notes for the shamrock and worked up an updated version – I LOVE how it turned out and quickly cranked out about 10! And that’s when I realized it would make a cute and unique garland.

Of course, you can use just one of these shamrocks to create a pin to wear or you can applique one to a hat or bag. The possibilities are endless!

I crocheted this with Paton’s Grace yarn – This yarn was around 10+ years ago when I first came up with the idea but in different colors. I still have some of those ‘old’ colors in my stash and decided to use those. But you can use any Size 3 cotton crochet thread (It’s a little thicker than the Size 10 often used for delicate doilies) such as Lizbeth Size 3 or Aunt Lydia’s Fashion 3 thread.

The instructions come with over 15 color photos showing you each step of the project and a helpful diagram is included to help you weave the Trinity Knot. A photo tutorial of how to add the bead elements is also included.

You can purchase this pattern now in my Etsy shop here – it’s an instant PDF printable.
