Easy Crochet Infinity Scarf

Easy Crochet Scarf

This Easy Crochet Scarf is crocheted with a yarn I just couldn’t resist buying at my local Hobby Lobby. Have you ever seen a skein of yarn in the store that is so pretty you just have to buy it right then and there? And, of course, you have no specific plans for it but you just gotta have it? 🙂

Well, that is what happened when I saw the yarn pictured below by Yarn Bee – their “Sugarwheel Cotton Sparkle” in the color “Just Relax” – ahhh. Pretty blues with the name “Just Relax” . . . .

Stitches Used in the Easy Crochet Scarf

So, I came up with this easy crochet infinity scarf project using a one row repeat stitch pattern – and sure enough, it was so relaxing to crochet! Once I got into the rhythm of the stitches, my hook was cruising along taking the soft and sparkly yarn quickly through my fingers. If you know how to do a single crochet and a double crochet, then you’ll do just fine with this stitch. I show you how to make this stitch with some detailed photos below – the trickiest part is figuring out where to insert your hook.

I think you’ll enjoy crocheting this project – I love how you can’t see the rows clearly (so there are no row-lines) and it even looks like it’s been knitted. This stitch gives it a lot of stretch so be sure to store it rolled up or folded in a drawer (not hanging).

Let’s get to the specifics!

Photo of how to do the stitch with many arrows and text to help you insert your hook into the correct place after Row 1
When pulling a loop through 3 loops on hook, this creates a cluster stitch – Shown here are what the cluster stitches look like on the wrong side (black arrows); The vertical bars in between the cluster stitches are the markers for where to insert your hook
Close up photo of what the stitch looks like mid-way through using pink yarn and large blue hook held in hands
Here you can see that the hook has been inserted to the right and left side of the vertical bar and the YO at the end of the hook is about to go through the 3 loops on the hook to create the cluster

Notes:

Scarf is worked back and forth in rows and then the 2 short sides are joined to create a large loop that can be wrapped around neck 2 or 3 times

Your Easy Crochet Scarf is Complete!

And that’s it! Your Easy Crochet Infinity Scarf is complete. I like to call it the “Repeat and Relax” Infinity Scarf because I found that once I got into the rhythm of the Sophia Stitch, I really enjoyed the project and the relaxation benefits. The yarn was fun to crochet with, too – it has great drape and such pretty color changes. Of course, pretty much any yarn would work for this pattern but I do recommend Medium weight or Size 3 (DK weight) so your dimensions turn out similar to mine.
