The first time I saw the Lion Brand Jeans yarn in the craft store I fell in love with it! Who doesn’t love the color and feel of denim? And this yarn has both! It comes in several colors but this one here – “Classic” – was my favorite.
This scarf works up quickly and feels great around your neck. The mini-puff stitches (that are explained for you below) create a gentle texture that creates a perfect “channel” for the topstitched accents. And would you believe the colorway for these accents is called, “Topstitch” – just like you would have on your favorite pair of jeans!
Skill Level: Easy

Measurements: 6 1/2″ wide x 55″ long

Supplies:

Yarn: Lion Brand Jeans – Classic (MC – 2 skeins) & Top Stitch (CC – 1 skein)

Special Stitches
Mini-Puff Stitch = YO, insert hook into next st, YO, draw up a loop about ½” tall; YO, insert hook into same st, YO, draw up a loop about ½” tall; YO, pull through all 5 loops on hook
(For this project I decided that the “wrong side” of this mini-puff stitch was the prettier side so when you work on each sc row you are looking at the “Right Side”)

Instructions
With MC ch 23
Row 1 (Right Side): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn. (22 sc)
Row 2 (Wrong Side): Ch 2; Mini-Puff Stitch (see Special Stitches) in 1st st and in each st across. Turn. (22 Mini-Puff stitches)
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in 1st st and in each st across. Turn. (22 sc)
Repeat Rows 2 & 3 until scarf measures 55” long
With Wrong Sides facing join short ends with sc across. Fasten off.

Top Stitching:
With CC make a slip knot
With Right Side facing and slip knot on hook, insert hook into first space of sc row (between Mini-Puff stitch rows); YO (on back side of scarf), pull loop through scarf and through loop on hook;
*Insert hook into next space, YO (behind scarf), pull loop through scarf and through loop on hook* – Repeat from * to * across project
Ch 1 at end of row – Fasten off.
Repeat this top stitching in alternating sets of three and one around scarf using photo as a guide – skip 5 sc rows in between each set
