As many of you know I love to spend time outdoors and I enjoy gathering rocks, shells, driftwood, feathers and other objects I find along the way. During the summer I combine these “found objects” with crochet to make some unique projects (White Mountain Mandala, Mandala Driftwood Decoration).

This spring I designed the Colorida Wall Hanging (FREE pattern) and taught my daughters how to make it, too – you can watch a video of us crocheting it together here. But all along I had in mind a similar project using driftwood and a Celtic Knot.

And now it is ready for you in my Etsy shop – the Celtic Driftwood Decoration.

Skill Level: Easy

Measurements: 11″ w x 7″l

Supplies:

Size 3 (DK/Fine weight) yarn – Sinfonia by Omega shown in photos

(Colors: Light green, Dark Green, White)

F/3.75mm crochet hook

Driftwood (or dowel) 12-14” long

Hot glue gun and glue sticks (optional)

Yarn needle

Foam core board or cork board (8″ x 8″)

20 straight sewing pins

Stitches Used:

Chain

Slip Stitch

Single crochet

Double crochet

What is included in the instructions:

The instructions include several (over 45!) step-by-step photos to help you make the stitches, weave the Celtic Knot and add everything to the driftwood. The Celtic Knot diagram is also included.
