The last week of the Crochet Guild of America’s Mega Crochet-A-Long is starting today and the Spring Blossoms Necklace is the FREE pattern of the week. This is part of the CGOA’s National Crochet Month celebration – 4 patterns have been offered each week in March by 4 different crochet designers from around the country. (Read this blog post about the benefits of becoming a member of CGOA and more info about the Mega CAL) Click on any photo or here to be taken to the CGOA website and see the pattern.

As some of you may know, I love to create jewelry mainly because it is a quick project and is most often one-size-fits-all! This time of year those of us who live in areas of the world that experience cold winters are very much looking forward to spring. The warmer sunshine, green leaves, busy birds and emergence of flowers all uplift our spirits as we see life coming back to our surroundings! I designed this necklace to reflect the hope of spring with its simple flower-like motifs and jewelry techniques. You can also create a variety of necklace styles with the motifs as shown in the photo below.
Over the course of this next week (March 22nd to March 28th) I will be posting new video tutorials for each step of this project. Make sure to subscribe to our Youtube channel so you won’t miss out. (Btw, did you know that Youtube changed some of its settings? Now you need to click on the little bell icon when you are subscribing to make sure you receive all notifications when your favorite channels post new videos.) For your convenience, the first video is here.
Thank you for stopping by during National Crochet Month. If you make this necklace, please send me a photo or post it to its Ravelry page.
Happy crocheting!
Jennifer
