CGOA celebrates National Crochet Month

March is fast approaching and there will be much to celebrate including . . .

National Crochet Month!

The Crochet Guild of America (CGOA – www.crochet.org) will be celebrating by offering 4 free crochet patterns over the course of the month from 4 different crochet designers.  They are calling it their first, “Mega CAL” or “Mega Crochet-A-long”. Each designer will provide accompanying blog posts, video tutorials or step-by-step photo tutorials for each of their patterns.  The photo above shows you a sneak preview of each of the designs.  Can you guess which one is mine?

Yes! I am one of the designers and I am excited to be a part of this celebration to bring awareness to CGOA and all that the guild has to offer.  There are many free resources available to you on their website but becoming a member gives you so much more: Subscription to Crochet! magazine, Recipient of a regular crochet newsletter, discounts to many retailers and the annual Chain Link Conference.  I encourage you to become a member and attend one of their events.  I have met several wonderful crocheters at the conferences that I keep up with throughout the year. They are a great blessing to me and have become special “crochet” friends. Just click on the “becoming a member” words in green above to read the complete list of member benefits.

And, of course, don’t forget to visit www.crochet.org to download your free pattern each week in March.  When my design is posted I’ll be providing video tutorials to go with each step of the pattern so make sure to check back here for those.

I love National Crochet Month! I have more plans on how to celebrate here on this blog so stay tuned for more  posts about it.  What do you plan to do to celebrate? Share your plans in the comments below – we love to hear what you are up to with crochet!
